The deadline to purchase a Franklin County dog license is Thursday (March 31).

The price of a permit for one year is $18 for a neutered or neutered dog and $35 for an unneutered dog. For those who pay after April 1, fees double to $35 and $70, respectively

Licenses can be purchased online at doglicense.franklincountyohio.gov or at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office Licensing Counter at 373 S. High St., 21st Floor. The counter is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Owners can also change addresses, upload forms and update information about their dogs through the online system.

For the third consecutive year, the renewal deadline has been extended by two months from the normal January deadline in an attempt to increase the number of licenses. After the deadline has passed, the auditor’s office will review the effectiveness of the extended renewal period in increasing licenses.

The Auditor’s Office has expanded locations where owners can purchase licenses, including the Franklin County Dog Shelter, 4340 Tamarack Blvd. in the Northland area, pet vaccination clinics and at community events.

“Licensing your dog is responsible pet care, and I encourage everyone to make sure your canine best friend is licensed,” County Auditor Michael Stinziano said in a statement. Press release.
