Pontiac, MI – Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center has extended its offer of a free rabies vaccine with the purchase of a dog license from Tuesday morning through the end of May.

Free rabies shots with the purchase of a dog license are available at the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Animal Adoption Center in Pontiac from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays in April . The shelter is now adding Tuesdays in May to meet demand.

“Residents lined up outside our door on Tuesday morning to get their dogs vaccinated against rabies for free with the purchase of a license,” said Bob Gatt, manager of the animal shelter and adoption center. Oakland County animals. “We don’t want the cost of the rabies vaccine to be an obstacle for anyone getting a dog license.”
