ISLAND CANINES ATTENDS WORLD’S LARGEST CANINE SHOW – Island Echo

Best Veteran Saluki

The Isle of Wight had a strong presence at this year’s CRUFTS, with several Isle of Wight Canine Association dogs qualified to exhibit in the breed judging, hoping to win the coveted Best in Show.

Crufts are promoted at the largest dog show in the world with over 16,000 competitors and exhibitors. The rigors of qualification are no small feat and can be different depending on the dog’s age and breed, but generally in the UK the dog must earn a first, second or third in class at a show championship in the given dates throughout the year. before.

The qualifying dogs included 46 dogs of various breeds. For various reasons, not all of the dogs went and exhibited at the NEC in Birmingham between March 10 and 13, 2022. Of those who did, there were several good wins, including Best Breed Puppy, the best purebred dog and 2 best veterans. There were also a number of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes in the individual classes.
