This year marks the 20th year that the National Dog Show presented by Purina and hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia will be televised. Every year, thousands of dogs travel to Pennsylvania to compete, but only one top dog is named best in show. This year not only marks a milestone anniversary of the National Dog Show, but also ushers in a whole new breed, the Biewier Terrier (pronounced beaver terrier), into the toy group for the first time. The National Dog Show airs on NBC on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 25) after Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade airs, as it does every year, with the same excellent hosts: John O’Hurley, David Frei and Mary. Carlillo. You can watch the show on TV on NBC from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in all time zones. Be sure to check your local listings.
But unlike Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, this show habit be live. The competition will take place on November 20 and 21, and the broadcast will air later in the week.

If you don’t have cable, luckily there are other ways to catch it on Turkey Day. You can watch the competition as it airs, live, on NBC’s website, but you’ll need a cable connection to watch it. Or, if you subscribe to Hulu Live or YouTube TV, you can watch the dog show on NBC.
