Greendale Township man arrested for allegedly violating personal protection order

The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by journalist Tereasa Nims.

Wednesday August 31

9:46 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a site in Edenville Township for a report of barking dogs. The MP spoke with a 66-year-old woman, who said she would keep the dogs indoors overnight.

8:39 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Jasper Township regarding a 22-year-old man filing a possible criminal sexual conduct complaint. It was determined that the man was mentally impaired and had made a false statement. The man’s mother said she would make sure the problem didn’t happen again.

8:22 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Ingersoll Township regarding a civil dispute involving a dog. The deputy contacted a 42-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man. It was determined that the dog would go with the woman and the dispute should be dealt with in civil court.

8:21 p.m. – Police were called to the 2800 block of Ashman Street for a private property accident.

6:40 p.m. – A deputy spoke to a 72-year-old woman from Warren Township about a stranger using her social security number to apply for a car loan. The woman said the fraudulent activity was detected before any monetary loss. The woman requested a report to document the incident and received information on how to protect herself against identity theft.

5:14 p.m. – Police were called to State and E. Indian streets for an accident with personal injury.

4:43 p.m. – A 35-year-old man was arrested for breaching a personal protection order in Greendale Township after he allegedly trespassed on a neighbor’s property. The man was transported to the Midland County Jail without incident. A report is sent to the prosecutor.

4:02 p.m. – Police were dispatched to an accident at Rodd and E. Indian streets.

3:34 p.m. – Police responded to Poseyville Road and River Street for an accident with property damage.

12:53 p.m. – Police were called to Jerome and W. Main streets for a property damage accident.

10:14 a.m. – Deputies responded to Mills Township for a single-vehicle accident with no injuries.

9:44 a.m. – Deputies checked the area for a vehicle that was involved in a retail theft in Midland. They were unable to locate the vehicle.

9.07am – MPs dealt with a referral from the Department of Health and Human Services over possible physical abuse of a 5-year-old boy. Contact was made with the child at his school, no disclosures were made regarding the physical abuse and no injuries were visible.

9:15 a.m. – An animal control assistant received a call about a problem with a loose dog from a home in Lincoln Township. The caller took the dog to the Humane Society of Midland County. The complaint was forwarded to the prosecutor for running dogs on the loose and failure to purchase a dog license.

8:41 a.m. – Police were called to the 7300 block of Eastman Avenue for a theft complaint.

8:31 a.m. – Police responded to the 3500 block of Isabella Street for an arrest warrant.

2:17 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to the law enforcement center to speak with a 44-year-old man from Edenville Township. The man said he had issues with his ex-wife and wanted the incidents documented.

01.36am – MPs spoke to a 44-year-old man who received a bizarre phone call saying his 23-year-old daughter had been injured. Deputies spoke with the Complainant’s daughter by telephone and confirmed that she was in good health and staying out of town for the night. The complainant blocked the caller’s phone number.
